A Cabin Deep in the Alaskan Woods

The pilgrimage starts

Across the bay, through the woods

To our interim home

Bushwhacking our way

Through reconquering alders

and crossing a creek

We step back in time.

Void of electricity

and running water

A sanctuary

from daily interruptions

to reset our lives.

A space to reflect

with room to contemplate meaning

to return, grounded.
