"Undeniably Inevitable" a Poem by Dalton Johnson
UNDENIABLY INEVITABLE
Undeniably abused
Yet, a blind eye is turned when
Trampled upon Foot after foot,
Held down by
Consistent systemic oppression,
Struggle to stand up for themselves Under the mental and physical tax
Unjustly written into perpetuity.
Obviously misunderstood
By uncountable counts of lives
There seems to be no way out From under the oppressors feet.
If only...
No, don’t think that way.
Let go of hope.
Let go of future.
Let go of dreams, and
Accept your inevitable:
You’re unable to just say no, in
An act of self preservation, leading to A lifetime of abuse.
