WHAT I LIE ABOUT
I lie to myself that: Iamokay, Iamhappy,
I am content,
I am impressed.
For I live in a haze
of lies, which clutter my mind so that I am able to
trudge the streets.
Don’t get me wrong,
I am truthful with others but, I might not be completely.
For I have lied to myself
for years, just to protect
me from the things which
I have not wanted to think about.
Things like:
sex, booze, friends,
family, my future, my present, my life choices.
For I have chosen a life which is hard to live; filled with hardship, loneliness, prosperity, and a lack of self-reflection.
