Red dirt, a history of cowboys, landscapes stretching as far as the eye can see, and sandstone towers reaching towards the sky are all iconic concepts of the American West. However, there are few cities that demand the respect of adventurers alike more than Moab, Utah. It is here, in this desert oasis, where you will find an adult playground that will blow your mind when you visit for the first, or the 10,000th, time.

Think of a time in your life, when you said to yourself, “Wow! That was exciting.” Or, “Gosh, that was scary for me!" What do you remember from that memory? Were you close to cliff’s edge, fatigued from exerting yourself, or were you overcoming a fear built up in your imagination? Hopefully, that memory was elective and an experience you can look back upon as type two fun. A learning lesson, a personal challenge, an opportunity to expand your horizon.

We have all been living in our vehicles at the Buttermilks for a while now, typically sleeping until the sun comes out as the mornings have been cold. However, after some bribery, I convinced the crew that waking up early to watch the sunrise and enjoy a cup of coffee before bouldering would be a great refresh.

They begrudgingly agreed.

The second episode of the podcast has dropped! In this episode, we dive into the world of dirtbag living with the Manager and Community Lead at Arc’teryx, Krista Coole. Personally, I met Krista through Beau Martino, about a year ago. Throughout that time, Krista has focused on building out the ambassador program for Arc’teryx Norcal.

“Hey! You coming with us this weekend right?” I asked my best buddy on the phone. Our plan was to road trip to South Lake Tahoe for a long weekend of rock climbing. Even though I grew up in the Lake Tahoe area, my childhood was mostly spent swimming in a pool, chasing a dream of college sports. Since graduating, I left the pool behind and picked up rock climbing. Now, I am not very good, but gym climbing is quite boring to me, so getting outside for multi-pitch rock climbing itches my adventure needs.
