Traveling To Egypt Anytime Soon With a Camera?

I paired up with Tamron Americas to bring to life a 1500 word guide, filled with images, about photographing historical monuments in Egypt. This story is focused on sailing/cruising the Nile, visiting the ancient sites of Luxor, visiting museums, and, of course, photographing the pyramids.

Personally, this project was one in a lifetime, as I achieved a childhood goal of visiting every continent. Finishing with Egypt, a childhood fascination, I couldn't be more in shock. Before I write any more of a sob story about achieving childhood dreams, here is a taste of the article:

How To Photograph Historical Landmarks In Egypt

Photographing historical landmarks in Egypt requires tough decisions—starting with what to pack. My bag is ready, but weight is a problem. I’m headed along the Nile River from Cairo to Abu Simbel with the goal of capturing Egypt’s iconic landmarks through my lens. But the plane’s strict weight limits mean I can’t take everything I want.

Now comes the hard part. Do I ditch clothing and smell? Do I leave a few camera essentials behind? Maybe no computer? Hmm… Staring at my bags on the floor, I know the answer. I don’t want to admit it, but I have to. Laughing, I accept my reality and say to myself: Well, I’m just going to smell bad while I am photographing Egypt.

Egypt Was Calling, So I Went (Photo Essay)

As a kid, I dreamed of visiting all seven continents. I’m proud to say, after this trip to Egypt, my 12 year-old-self would greet me with a smile and say, “Good job, Dalton, you did it. Now, were else else are we going to go? You’re only 31.” Laughing to myself as I write this, I understand my younger self was never satisfied. I’m still kind of like that, but, for now, it’s time to sit back and process this privilege I’ve been blessed to enjoy.

Pyramids, history,

the Nile, a childish desire to finish

a dream I thought impossible.

The call from Egypt

was far to great for rejection

so I packed my bags and camera

and went.

Saqqara, Karnak, Abu Symbol,

Luxor, Aswan, Kom Ombo, Gisa, and more.

They never disappointed.

Duality, legacy, hardship,

there is no lack of challenges in Egypt.

Yet, this trip was filled with nothing

but appreciation.

Thank You Abercrombie & Kent

Shout out to Abercrombie & Kent for hosting me on this trip to Egypt. Without their support, this project would have never gotten off the ground.

My greatest thanks goes out to resident Egyptologist Mohamed Rehim. His wealth of knowledge, professionalism, and kindness went well beyond any “guide” I have ever had. Rehim obviously loves his job which shines through in his passion for all things Egypt. Rehim not only shared stories about what we were looking at, but he connected the historical stories to today using his life story of growing up in Luxor. Thank you, Mohamed.

Please note: Abercrombie & Kent offset the cost of this trip to Egypt, but in no way have a say in what is written here.

Alaska's Premier Adventure Luxury Destination Stillpoint Lodge (Photo Essay)

Tucked away in Halibut Cove, Alaska is a hidden series of cabins with waterfront views belonging to a two key Michelin adventure lodge; Stillpoint Lodge. Getting there might spike your cortisol levels if you are not keen on boat rides or plane flights, but once you’re standing on your front porch staring out at the water, all your stress will fade away.

Greeted by the staff upon arrival at the docks, you’ll go for a property tour, to get a lay-of-the-land, ending at your cabin. Your first afternoon is for settling in, before the real adventures begin. Alaska isn’t on your bucket list if you don’t have an adventurous bone in your body, so Stillpoint Lodge has curated several itineraries for you, and your family, to fill your adventure appetite. Offering everything from bear viewing to glacial kayaking to salmon and halibut fishing, Stillpoint doesn’t miss a beat. If you are feeling “lazy” maybe you can talk the owner into a scenic plane flight to a secluded lake for lunch on the wing, or go for a swim in the refreshing salt water of Halibut Cove after doing some yoga. My personal favorite was jumping off the wing of the plane into the lake. Just be prepared to come up breathless, as the lake is glacially fed.

Good news for foodies, the chefs at Stillpoint Lodge knows what they are doing. Each day has three meals prepared for you at the stunning main lodge, although you’ll most likely opt in for a bagged lunch so you can play in the great Alaskan wilderness. Inspired by the seasons, the food is as fresh as it comes. The fish was most likely caught that day, the greens came from the garden, and the mushrooms were recently foraged. All of the decorative flowers and berries can be found around the property.

Do not be fooled by the adventure, or the food, for Stillpoint Lodge is full of relaxation and reconnection with what truly matters, stillness. Each morning, you’re greeted by stunning views, perfect to enjoy with a cup of coffee. And at dusk, if you look closely, you can find wildlife wandering the banks for a night-time snack. Soak in the hot tub, or splurge on the VIP suit so you can get your sweat on in the private sauna. Kick back with a drink in hand to watch birds forage, get a massage, or cheers to the good life during happy hour. If you want my two-cents, take a solo walk around the property, wander the labyrinth, and sit on the dock to watch the moon rise over Halibut Cove.

I Caught My First Barrel Surfing Rancho Santana Nicaragua — And You Can Too

When I visited Rancho Santana, Nicaragua, I had one clear goal: surf a barrel. Despite almost 15 years of surfing experience, I had never successfully ridden inside a barrel and been spit out. Surfing Northern California's point breaks rarely presented opportunities for barrel riding, so this felt like my moment. To give myself the best shot, I enlisted the help of a surf instructor. Here’s how it all unfolded.

Day One: A Humbling Start

From the first wave, I realized this wasn’t going to be easy. The steep drops were relentless. Sometimes I’d make it to my feet, only to flip upside down and start the session tumbling through the washing machine. My surf instructor quickly identified areas for improvement.

“Use your front foot to steer over the boil,” he suggested. Wipeout.

“Tuck more — these waves aren’t that big,” he coached. Wipeout.

“Find the peak, then drop,” he emphasized. Another wipeout.

By midday, I was exhausted from the endless cycle of paddling, wiping out, and paddling back out. For someone used to long rides and carving turns, barrel riding was an entirely new challenge. It required flexibility, quick reflexes, and a willingness to get thrashed. Fortunately, Rancho Santana’s pool and hot tub offered a relaxing reward for my sore muscles after a tough day.

Day Two: Finding My Groove

Determined to improve, I decided to surf solo the next day. Rancho Santana boasts five beaches, with two prime surfing spots and a few panga drop-off locations. I opted for one of the local breaks, enjoying the vastness of the property. The shuttle rides between beaches highlighted just how expansive and self-contained Rancho Santana is — more like a community than a resort.

Once at the break, I spent another hour getting pounded by waves. But something started to click. My positioning improved, and I began to understand the rhythm of the waves. It wasn’t perfect, but progress was progress.

In the afternoon, my girlfriend and I took a break from surfing and went mountain biking. Rancho Santana’s single-track trails wound through the property, offering scenic routes and thrilling descents. We pedaled to the highest point on the property, then raced downhill, zigzagging through a mix of terrain. By the end, we were both exhausted but exhilarated. After a quick nap, I paddled out for a mellow sunset surf in front of the property. It was the perfect end to the day — easy waves and a breathtaking view.

Day Three: Achieving the Goal

Refreshed and ready, I returned to the original spot with my surf instructor. This time, I felt more prepared. A hearty breakfast and strong coffee had me energized as we paddled out to the peak. I noticed another surfer effortlessly catching barrels; he only had one leg. Inspired, I focused on making it happen.

Wave one: I nose-dived and got a sinus rinse.

Wave two: I stood up but got tomahawked by the lip.

Wave three: A complete disaster.

Then, on wave four, everything clicked. I stood up, angled my board toe-side, and tucked down, dropping my back knee. As the wave curled over me, I found myself inside the barrel. Time seemed to slow down as I sped through the tunnel, and then, just like that, I was spit out. I’d done it — I rode my first barrel.

I kept trying for the rest of the session, but nothing matched that initial success. While I wasn’t catching barrels left and right, breaking the ice gave me the confidence and knowledge to improve.

Why Rancho Santana?

Rancho Santana is the ideal place to chase barrels. The variety of breaks ensures waves for all skill levels, and the surf instructors are invaluable for shortening the learning curve. Beyond surfing, the property offers a range of activities, from mountain biking to dining, making it a perfect destination for surf trips and beyond.

If barrel riding is on your bucket list, I can’t recommend Rancho Santana enough. With patience, practice, and a good instructor, you’ll be riding inside the tube in no time. Who knows? Maybe you’ll catch your first barrel here too.

The Ancient Sites of Luxor, Egypt Are Overwhelming Without a Guide

When you picture ancient Egypt, you're likely imagining the wonders of Luxor. This “small town” along the Nile River is a treasure trove of history, home to some of the most iconic sites in the world. From the Valley of the Kings and Queens to the sprawling Temple of Karnak and the Luxor Temple, the sheer scale and significance of Luxor's ancient sites are breathtaking. Yet, without a guide, it can be hard to fully appreciate the depth of what you’re seeing.

From the Valley of the Kings and Queens to the sprawling Temple of Karnak and the Luxor Temple, the sheer scale and significance of Luxor's ancient sites are breathtaking. Yet, without a guide, it can be hard to fully appreciate the depth of what you’re seeing.

Why You Need a Guide in Luxor

The history of Luxor, known as Thebes during the Roman and Greek reigns of Egypt, is as rich as it is complex. Walking among these ancient structures, you’ll encounter hieroglyphics that tell stories spanning thousands of years. These intricate carvings and paintings are mesmerizing, but without someone to decode them, much of their meaning is lost.

While in Egypt on a 10-day Nile River cruise with Abercrombie & Kent I jotted these words down in my notebook:

“It’s hard to comprehend the timeline and scale of Egypt. The temples tower over you, and as you look at the hieroglyphics, you realize the temple took 180-200 years to build. It’s mind-bending. However, if I didn’t have Mohamed Rehim as my Egyptologist guide, explaining what I was looking at, I don’t think I would have appreciated the temples and tombs as much because I just would not understand.”

A guide not only explains the stories behind the carvings but also brings context to the staggering effort it took to build these sites. With so much to take in, their insights help prevent sensory overload and ensure you leave with a deeper understanding.

Beyond the historical insights, guides in Luxor also assist in navigating the logistics of visiting these sites. Many attractions require specific tickets for access, and guides often know the best times to visit to avoid crowds. They can also suggest unique vantage points for photography, ensuring you capture the beauty of these ancient wonders without distraction.

Must-See Sites in Luxor

There’s more to see in Luxor than you could cover in five days, but here are a few highlights and tips to maximize your experience:

1. Valley of the Kings and Queens

These famous burial sites are awe-inspiring, with underground tombs revealing intricate artwork and hieroglyphics that have survived for millennia. Don’t miss the extra tickets for the tombs of Seti I and Ramesses V & VI—these tombs are especially well-preserved and stunning. While King Tut’s tomb is iconic, it can feel underwhelming compared to the grandeur of others.

The Valley of the Queens is less crowded but equally fascinating. You may even have entire tombs to yourself, making it an unforgettable experience. Guides can point out unique features in the artwork, such as depictions of daily life and religious rituals that provide deeper insights into ancient Egyptian culture.

2. Temple of Karnak

Sprawling across 200 acres, the Temple of Karnak is one of the largest religious structures ever built. Set aside a full day to explore its halls, columns, and sacred spaces. The sheer size and architectural detail are unmatched. Many visitors are astonished by the Great Hypostyle Hall, a forest of towering columns intricately carved with hieroglyphics and symbols that tell stories of devotion and power.

Guides often emphasize the importance of Karnak as a center of worship, explaining the rituals and ceremonies that took place here. They also highlight the contributions of various pharaohs over centuries, making this temple a living timeline of Egyptian history.

3. Luxor Temple and Avenue of Sphinxes

Situated in the heart of the city, Luxor Temple is a nighttime marvel when illuminated. Stroll the Avenue of Sphinxes, which once connected Luxor Temple to Karnak, and imagine the grand processions that took place here thousands of years ago. Guides bring these moments to life, describing the religious festivals that drew crowds to this sacred pathway.

At Luxor Temple, the interplay of light and shadow creates an atmosphere of reverence. Guides often recommend visiting at sunset to witness the transition from day to night, a symbolic reminder of the ancient Egyptians’ deep connection to the cycles of nature.

4. The Nile River Experience

A trip to Luxor isn’t complete without time spent on the Nile. Take a traditional felucca ride to experience how ancient Egyptians once traveled. The peaceful waters provide a unique perspective on the city and its surroundings. Guides can share stories about the Nile’s role in sustaining life and facilitating trade in ancient times.

If you have the time, consider a hot air balloon ride at sunrise. The views over the Nile and Luxor’s temples are unforgettable. While I didn’t manage to fit this into my trip, it’s at the top of my list for next time. Guides can help arrange these experiences, ensuring you make the most of your visit.

How a Guide Enhances Your Visit

A skilled Egyptologist will not only explain the history but also tailor your visit to your interests. They’ll guide you to quieter areas to avoid crowds and share tips on what to prioritize, like the hidden gems in the Valley of the Kings or the best vantage points at Karnak.

For example, at the Valley of the Kings, understanding that some tombs date back nearly 3,500 years—and that the paint you see remains vibrant—can deepen your appreciation. Similarly, knowing the Temple of Karnak took centuries to build, with contributions from dozens of pharaohs, adds layers to your experience.

Guides also help with practical aspects of your visit, such as ensuring you have the correct tickets and navigating the maze-like structures of some sites. Their presence can transform a potentially overwhelming experience into an enriching journey through history.

Plan Ahead to Make the Most of Luxor

Luxor’s vast array of historical sites and activities can feel overwhelming, so planning is key. Allocate enough time to explore, ideally with a guide to help navigate the logistics and provide context.

From wandering the massive columns of Karnak to soaking in the serene beauty of the Nile on a felucca, Luxor offers an unforgettable glimpse into ancient Egypt. With the help of a knowledgeable guide, you can fully appreciate the marvels this city has to offer—and avoid leaving with regrets about what you might have missed.

When preparing for your trip, consider the season and time of day for visiting certain sites. Early mornings often provide cooler temperatures and fewer crowds, making it the ideal time to explore outdoor temples and tombs. A guide can help craft an itinerary that balances your interests with practical considerations, ensuring a smooth and memorable visit.

So, if you’re wondering what to do in Luxor, Egypt, the answer is clear: everything—just make sure to do it with a guide.

Regenerative Travel with the ‘Enrich’ Program

This year, Grand Hyatt Kauai is celebrating 15 years of promoting regenerative travel through its innovative ‘Enrich’ program. Designed to give back to the local community and environment, the program offers guests the chance to participate in meaningful, hands-on activities that benefit Kauai’s ecosystem and residents.

One of the most popular options is the opportunity to spend the day with a dog from the Kauai Humane Society. Guests can sign up to take a furry friend on a hike or to the beach, giving shelter dogs a fun day out. In some cases, travelers even adopt their canine companion and transport them home through the resort’s convenient pet transfer program.

For eco-conscious travelers, the partnership with the Surfrider Foundation offers a chance to make a direct impact on Kauai’s pristine beaches. Guests can join the weekly beach cleanups or organize their own using the cleanup kits available at the resort. It’s a simple but impactful way to help preserve Kauai’s natural beauty.

Nature lovers can volunteer at the nearby National Tropical Botanical Garden, assisting with planting, weeding, potting, or even crafting for the garden’s gift shop. And for those looking to support the local community, the Habitat for Humanity partnership allows guests to lend a hand in building homes for residents, from landscaping to construction and administrative tasks.

Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa has something for everyone, making it an ideal destination for family vacations, romantic getaways, or trips with friends. Whether you're lounging by the pool, participating in cultural activities, or giving back through the ‘Enrich’ program, every moment at this stunning resort is an opportunity to connect with the beauty of Kauai.

Plan your dream island vacation today and discover the perfect balance of luxury, adventure, and cultural immersion at Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa.

For adventure travelers heading to Patagonia, there's exciting news from Torres del Paine National Park. Las Torres Patagonia is unveiling a major transformation of Hotel Las Torres, promising a fresh, contemporary stay amidst the stunning Patagonian landscape. Starting October 1, 2024, guests will experience newly designed accommodations and an enhanced adventure at this historic property.

With the season's opening just around the corner, the hotel is undergoing a complete redesign led by renowned architect Pedro Kovacic and interior designer Enrique Concha. Their vision aims to blend elegance and simplicity, ensuring that the interior complements rather than competes with the breathtaking surroundings.

Hotel Las Torres, owned by the Kusanovic family, boasts 74 rooms set against a backdrop of towering mountains, dense forests, and vibrant skies. Kovacic and Concha's design philosophy was inspired by these natural wonders. “We wanted the interior to harmonize with the natural beauty outside,” they explained, striving for a modern yet understated aesthetic.

The redesign features porcelain tiling replacing traditional carpets, reflecting the textures and colors of Torres del Paine. The focal point in each room is the bed, featuring ridged wood slots, linen fabrics that evoke Patagonia’s serenity, and subtle lighting to create a cozy, welcoming atmosphere.

Bathrooms have also been revamped, with modern showers and glass doors replacing the classic bathtubs. The use of porcelain tiles and sleek fixtures provides a timeless look, merging historical elements with contemporary touches.

The redesigned rooms are crafted to offer a peaceful retreat that harmonizes with the raw beauty of Patagonia. Wooden boards in the corridors, naturally weathered by the elements, maintain a rustic charm, while large windows frame spectacular views of Mount Almirante Nieto.

Beyond the rooms, Las Torres Patagonia plans to upgrade Coiron Restaurant, Pioneer Bar, and other public areas over the next year, ensuring a fully refreshed experience for all guests.

What to Do in Patagonia

While staying at Hotel Las Torres, adventure travelers can explore a variety of activities that make Patagonia a bucket-list destination:

  1. Hiking the W Trek: This iconic trek offers some of the most stunning views in Torres del Paine, including the famous Towers of Paine.

  2. Wildlife Watching: Spot guanacos, pumas, and the Andean condor in their natural habitats.

  3. Glacier Tours: Visit the Grey Glacier and enjoy breathtaking boat tours across Lago Grey.

Outbound Mammoth Might Just Be The Perfect Stay in Mammoth Lakes

Timing is everything they say. We couldn’t have “timed” this outbound trip any better. With summer closing out and snow riding season just around the corner, we took advantage of a long weekend getaway to Mammoth Lakes, California.

We arrived at an unassuming-looking rustic hotel on Old Mammoth Boulevard. Outbound Mammoth, sits at approximately 7,500 feet elevation, conveniently in Mammoth Lakes, CA. As we drove up to the parking lot, a new sign was being hung, this cleverly incorporated the old wooden bears from the former owner. Curious about what we may find, we opened the door to the lobby.

We were met with craftsmanship, textiles, and friendly faces. The front desk folks were prompt and helpful. Looking to the right, a huge fireplace surrounded by casual seating was center stage, and a lobby bar with an array of cocktails stood at attention, ready to set off the evening.

Greeted by Brent Truax, the General Manager at the resort since 2013, his passion for the property and the town of Mammoth Lakes was infectious. We were led through a brief history of the origination of the property, built by the LA Laker’s owner, Dr. Jerry Buss. Heard tales of celebrities that had stayed at the resort, including a brief story about John Wayne’s spouse who enjoyed her stay there while her husband was filming Westerns in the Eastern Sierra. Apparently, celebrity sightings could occur at any time at Outbound Mammoth, and with the private six-bedroom, six-bath, with a sleeper loft private chalet that has been recently renovated, the property offers a perfect retreat for those avoiding the paparazzi.

The dog-friendly hotel offers other accommodations, including cabins, chalets, and fireplace rooms with king-sized or two queen beds, all available at reasonable rates. Our fireplace room was complete with the usual suspects:

  • an extremely comfortable king-sized bed

  • kitchenette

  • pull-out sofa bed

  • a unique cowhide oversized chair

  • Plus two other leather chairs

  • a kitchen table for four

In the bathroom:

  • dual sinks

  • radiant heat floors

  • a tub

  • a separate shower

Wait…all that at this price point? Yes! The modern conveniences kept surprising us, too.

The property also has a steam room, a gym, a sauna, a pool, and a spa. We were even lucky to experience a private wine tasting at the Lobby Wine Bar by Chip Ermish, Outbound Mammoth’s Advance Sommelier.

We enjoyed cocktails at Bar Sierra on the property and a delicious dinner of BBQ meats and sides. The talented locals performed on open mic night, and the bar became a sing-along for all to join in. The small-town vibe made you feel like you were on an episode of “Cheers,” where everyone knew your name!

The following day, we ate a superb crepe breakfast from Café Crepe, the food truck on site. Next, we decided to see what Mammoth Lakes offered during the shoulder season. We knew about high season and skiing, but we didn’t realize how populated the area is for biking, climbing, fishing, and hiking, as well as taking in all the beauty the area offers.

Outbound Mammoth partners with Black Tie Adventure Rentals, Mammoth, and they provided us with an e-bike tour. Ben and Collin took five of us on a 25-mile ride up through the beautiful landscape, including the popular climbing area, Crystal Crag. We took a trail that meanders through town past the Volcom Brothers skate park and up through the lakes area.

The vistas were off the charts. The Mammoth Lake Trail System has over one hundred individual trails, something for every skill level.

After our bike ride, we decided to tour Devils Postpile and Rainbow Falls National Monument, which did not disappoint. A five-mile round trip loop took us to a unique rock formation and 101-foot-high Rainbow Falls. Once again, timing was on our side as Red Meadows Road closed for the season the next day.

Returning to Outbound Mammoth Hotel, a little sweaty and dirty from the day's adventures, we embraced the casual vibe that emanates from the hotel with a cold drink from the bar. Families, dogs, and couples were milling around the venue, waiting for the Andrew Bird concert to begin. Pop-up tents filled with vendors and artists lined the streets. Adirondack chairs and solo fireplaces were set up to sit back, relax, and enjoy the sounds of Andrew Bird into the evening.

As we drove out of Mammoth Lakes the following day, we headed to Wild Willy’s to experience the natural hot springs. A short walk from the parking area, we were in swim suits and dipped more than our toes in this warm mineral water. What a treat, but don’t tell anyone, we want to keep this place a secret.

Honestly, it was my first visit to this hidden gem, and now I can’t wait to go back, but first, we are off to visit the another Outbound Hotel recently added to their portfolio, The Virginian Lodge in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Discovering The Best Brunch Spot In Sedona, AZ Through a Friend of a Friend

When your foodie friend says L’Auberge de Sedona is the best brunch spot in Sedona, AZ trust them and make a reservation ASAP

Before getting my boots dirty on the hiking trails in Sedona, AZ, I put out a message to everyone I knew who had recently visited this high desert landscape to see if they had any suggestions. Quickly, I received a ping back from a friend-of-a-friend that went something like, “If you are there on a Sunday, do yourself a favor and snag a reservation for brunch at L’Auberge de Sedona, you won’t regret it. Oh, and it’s by a gorgeous river, so sit outside.” I was sold.

Brunch can be hit, or miss, however I knew this recommendation was going to be good. Yet, we still wanted to do something in the morning before stuffing ourselves during this all-you-can-eat brunch by the river. But, what? A hike! After some scrolling, we decided upon a sunrise hike to the Instagram famous Subway Cave, hoping the influencers were going to still be asleep.

Dalton Johnson enjoying the view from the Subway hike in Sedona, AZ

Our plan worked. My partner and I woke up before sunrise and were on the trial as the clouds turned a dark orange, red. The hike to the Subway Cave went quickly and we had the place to ourselves, for a little while. By the time we looked at our phones, crowds were showing up, our bellies were growing, and we were cutting it close.

We had 35 minutes until our reservation.

Shocked how fast time passed, we jogged back to the vehicle, fearing our river-side table would be given away, and zoomed from the trailhead to L’Auberge de Sedona. Hopping out of the vehicle, the valet snagged our keys and kindly reassured us there was no need to rush. The brunch experience had already started.

As we walked towards the restaurant, our noses were greeted by Juniper burning in a fire-pit, calming us as the door opened and we were sat at the table. The sun was warming us as the waiter walked us through our options for brunch and let us loose to discover what made brunch at L’Auberge de Sedona so magical.

Oysters, scones, lamb, made-to-order omelet bar, prime rib, macaroons, potatoes, croissants, salmon, salad, the options were endless. Almost overwhelming. Yet, I wanted to sample everything I could with the limited space my belly had to offer. A good thing I built up an appetite with the morning hike.

Plate one.

Plate two.

Plate three.

In many ways brunch felt like tasting menu at a 7 course meal, taking small portions, but tasting an explosion of flavor in my mouth with each bite. At first, I thought prime rib from brunch was strange, but as it melted in my mouth, I wanted more. Each bite took me to another place. Sometimes I dreamed of being at the beach while slurping an oyster, other times I dreamed of being in France drinking coffee while controlling my impulse to devour the chocolate croissant.

Regardless of where a bite took me, I was always brought right back to the present moment as I stared out upon Oak Creek at the ducks swimming around in the water.

My friend-of-a-friend was right with their quick response, L’Auberge de Sedona is the best brunch spot in Sedona, AZ. Now, I wondered what it would be like to stay at this five-star resort.
