Welcome to the digital home for all things from Dalton Johnson.
This June, we're setting out on a multi-state road trip through Northern California, Nevada, Idaho, and Utah, in pursuit of the everyday adventures we all dream of experiencing and capturing via photo and video. The journey will embody the spirit of classic American road trips, meanwhile taking full advantage of the freedom of van life and the youthful adventure of exploring the “unknown to us” with the traveler’s mindset. Taking full advantage of each day on the road.
Imagine pulling over, cracking open a cold drink, and smiling knowing you’re stepping into a landscape that's entirely new. This summer, our journey is all about embracing the spirit of adventure—rock climbing, hiking, backpacking, sharing stories around campfires, and discovering hidden lakes and rivers. Each evening brings new opportunities of settling into a "new-to-you" spot, where micro-adventures are the main attraction filled with moments begging to be captured in photos and videos.
Mornings start with a steaming cup of joe and breathtaking views. On driving days, we'll take short hikes to stretch our legs and indulge our curiosity with spontaneous detours, because that inviting swimming hole we just passed might be the perfect spot for a midday dip. Swimming, and bathing, in fresh bodies of water remind us that it's summer. On adventure days, maybe we start the day with an epic hike, or have a slow morning making pancakes to fuel us for a full day of climbing. This road trip, which you all can join, is the reminder that adventures, big and small, are always just around the corner.
