The waves were small, the morning was cold (for Baja), and I was up early. The pre-dawn wake-up had become normal during my time of squishing my toes in the sand. I mean, who wouldn’t want to wake up before the sun to sit along the shoreline, listen, and feeling the waves pound on the beach?

As I placed my bare feet upon the rocky shore, trying to minimize the potential cuts that would happen if I slipped, I wandered out the point. Cracking open my notebook, I jotted down my feelings and maybe a poem. In an attempt to capture the beauty of the moment, I breathed. Closing my eyes, I felt the warmth of the sun poking out over the distant mountains.

It was going to be a beautiful day.
