Sunsets around the world are incredible, but few places have the mix of incredible sunsets and the ocean, making La Jolla shores in San Diego, CA unique. As I passed through this friendly surf break on a surf trip along California’s coastline, I was blown away by the colors. During that time, I told myself, this is the spot to watch the sunset. The ocean has a deep blue meanwhile the sky looks as though it is on fire.

With my camera in hand, I wanted to create a photograph where the colors popped yet the location wouldn’t matter. So, I set my camera to a slow shutter-speed and drug the camera (also called panning) right to left, to blur the sunset and smooth out the lines.

In the end, this is the photograph that came out :-) You’ve got to love California sunsets!
