In 2020, a wild year to say the least, I headed to Moab for a self-assigned star project. In photography, we call star photos astro photos. I guess photographers wanted to sound smart by using a fancy word... anyways I am digressing. In the fall of 2020, on this assignment, I spent three nights leading into the new moon, the new moon, and three nights following the new moon photographing the stars alongside the towering arches, buttresses, and towers around Moab. Spending a significant amount of my time in Arches National Park wandering around the desert throughout the night.
